Naninovel Integration, typewriter improvements and general fixes
Apr 14, 2026
Hello there! We just released a new update of Text Animator for Unity, version 3.11.0! (well… like the 3.4, the other versions between the 3.5 and this one are locked in another realm!)
In a nutshell
We added a new integration with Naninovel! Here is a quick video (also present in the documentation):
Thanks to feedback from one of our Text Animator users, we have also added the option to skip abbreviations entered via the typewriter using a whitelist. This means that if you type “Dr. Name” “Mr. Hello”, they will get played out as if they all were normal characters (skipping punctuation).

We fixed some bugs (a few more tedious than others) and also included an handy API for estimating a typewriter duration before starting it. (We are working on the scripting/public API as well, coming later.)
Tutorial series
Oh hey, in case you missed it: we have also started sharing new tutorials that work with Text Animator! The first one is about damage numbers, and we are releasing one every week for this month.
You can read it here: https://blog.febucci.com/2026/04/how-to-create-animated-damage-numbers-in-unity/
Feel free to join the discord and suggest new effects/tutorials together with the community. Cheers!
